The Garmin has Landed

Marathon T

Another week of training almost over and have been hearing today that the other members of the team are hitting some serious form. There are interesting mutterings coming from the upmarket gym frequented by Marathon’s S & P that the machines are creaking under the force of their training.

Last night:
Weights – lots of them.
Plus stretching and core conditioning (situps etc)
No cardio.

More training(ish) news - I am getting my new toy today (Garmin F305 – For Marathon J this is a personal training system that tracks heart rate, distance, speed, etc etc). It has arrived on the Island and I am going to give it a whirl tonight with a quick blast around the block (a couple of miles) to check it out prior to my scheduled long run on Sunday. Full report to follow….I have also noticed on the runners world site that they have customised Garmin training programmes for the half-marathon, so I might give one of those a go..

One quick point – I had to mention Marathon J checking out a woman’s “propulsion system” in the pool (below)…Is it only my mind that is running away with that one?

I think not.
