The relative merits of Hilton Gym's

Marathon T

Something of a slack few days due to travelling and supporting the marvellous England rugby team – who I always thought would put up a sterling performance in the game against Ireland (despite what the other blog entry may say!)

Training Update - Sunday morning:
Treadmill: 75 mins @ 7.0mph

I only managed 75 mins on Sunday morning (I was planning on 90 – still a shadow of the old man*) as I didn’t leave myself enough time between digesting breakfast and checking out at midday. As it was I could feel the poached eggs and fruit salad sloshing about throughout the run, the other big thing on my mind was the fact that Marathon B had booked my room on his credit card (in order to get some more VIP points – who is he trying to kid?) So, I had to leave myself ample time to clean out the mini bar and steal the robes before posting my room card and fleeing the scene.

For future reference the Hilton Gatwick fitness room is a tiny sweatbox of a place, as I stepped out of the door after the session the chill was ‘bracing’. It should be said that by the end of the run my shirt did weigh approximately 6lb’s (I had to wring it out before packing it)…

A full day travelling to Barcelona followed – and now I am safely ensconced in the Hilton in Barca. Apparently the gym here is much better – I hope so, it’s hill training tonight before tapas and rioja…

Adios amigos…
